Kate Garraway is a famous English journalist.

She studied at Fitzharrys School in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Kate graduated in English and History at Bath College of Higher Education.

She started her career with BBC Radio Oxford and later became an Independent Television News trainee journalist by 1994.

Kate Garraway worked as a production journalist, reporter and news presenter for ITV Central's regional television news and current affairs program "Central News".

She was selected as part of the team of presenters who launched the BBC's 24-hour rolling news channel "BBC News 24" in 1997.

Kate became the main anchor of Sky News' breakfast program "Sunrise" [1998-2000], covering stories such as the Kosovo crisis, the Paddington rail crash, the Turkish earthquakes and the Iraq bombing.

She joined "GMTV" [22 episodes: 2000-2009] in September 2000 as a presenter.

Kate appeared in the fifth series of the BBC's hit celebrity ballroom competition series "Strictly Come Dancing", partnered with professional dancer Anton du Beke. She was voted off in the seventh week of the show.

Garraway has made numerous appearances in television shows such as "Loose Women" [2003-2004 & 2006], "Too Many Cooks" [2004], "The People's Quiz" [2007], "Shooting Stars" [2008] and many other TV shows.

Kate Garraway married ITV Central producer Ian Rumsey in 1998. The couple divorced in April 2002.

Kate was engaged to Derek Draper in July 2005 and they married on September 10th, 2005. They together have a baby girl named Darcey Mary Draper born on March 10th, 2006. The couple are expecting their second child in July 2009.

Her hobbies include Scuba diving, bodyboarding, playing the clarinet and going to the cinema.
