Straight from finishing her degree, Kate Garraway immediately started a career in the media. Working as a journalist trainee for the BBC Radio Oxford in 1994, Garraway jumped to becoming a news presenter and reporter after landing a job at “Central News.” During this time, Kate was spotted by the head of Meridian Broadcasting and offered her to be the main presenter of the network’s nightly news magazine “Meridian Tonight.” The opportunity gave her enough visibility to be chosen as a member of the BBC News 24’s team in 1997.
A year after her BBC career started, Sky News offered Kate Garraway a job that involved anchoring their morning program, “Sunrise.” After accepting the job, Garraway reported some big headliners, such as the Paddington rail crash, Kosovo crisis, Iraq bombing and Turkish earthquakes. In 2000, Kate Garraway singed for “GMTV” as a presenter every Monday and Tuesday along with Ben Shephard.
Some of the television appearances of Kate Garraway include “Loose Women” in ITV1, where she serves as one of the panelists, guest for BBC Two’s “Have I Got News For You”, Five’s “The Wright Stuff”, “Too Many Crooks”, “This Morning”, channel 4’s “Beef Encounter”, BBC One’s “The People’s Quiz”, “The F Word”, “Other People’s Breast Milk” and the Anniversary Special of “Shooting Star.” .” Garraway has also hosted “Access Hollywood” for Living TV and presented ITV’s “The Biggest Loser” in 2009.
Aside from writing on a weekly column in New Magazine, Kate has also participated in several reality and variety shows, such as “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and the ballroom dancing show of BBC “Strictly Come Dancing”, where she was paired with professional ballroom dancer Anton du Beke to compete with other celebrities. Kate Garraway is still presenting for GMTV, alongside Ben Shephard every Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays.
